Based on Research Conducted at OSLC

Aimed at developing effective and feasible parenting interventions for children and their families in the child welfare system.

Project Overview

The aim of this center grant was to develop effective and feasible parenting interventions for children and their families in the Child Welfare System (CWS). Specifically, the focus was to facilitate the transition as children return home from foster care. The center had three inter-related project areas: (1) projects to translate and refine developmental models for children in the CWS; (2) projects designed to gain first-hand information about this transition from parents and key stakeholders in the CWS; and (3) a randomized intervention study to examine the effectiveness of an intervention for families of children returning home from foster care. These projects involved the collaboration of a multidisciplinary team of scientists at several universities and research centers as well as staff from the CWS.
