General Information on Employment with OSLC
The Oregon Social Learning Center (OSLC) and OSLC Developments, Inc. (ODI) are strongly committed to eliminating the disproportionate harms inflicted upon marginalized individuals - including people of color, women, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community (view the OSLC/ODI Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Statement here: https://www.oslc.org/about/diversity-equity-and-inclusion/). To truly achieve our mission of applying science to the betterment of families, we firmly believe that inclusivity and diversity must be centered in all aspects of our work.
Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply for jobs unless they believe they meet every one of the qualifications as described in a job description. We are most interested in finding the best candidate for the job, and that candidate may be one who comes from a less traditional background or doesn’t meet every one of the qualifications listed. If you are interested in applying, we encourage you to think broadly about your background and qualifications for the role.
OSLC/ODI is an “at will” employer. OSLC/ODI is proud to be an EEO/AA Employer and is committed to creating a diverse environment. To give equal employment and advancement opportunities to all people, we make employment decisions at OSLC/ODI based on each person's performance, qualifications, and abilities. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, color, national origin, age, religion, pregnancy status, disability status, medical condition, ancestry, marital status, familial status, protected veteran’s status, source of income, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
Employment Eligibility
Federal law requires all employers to verify the identity and employment eligibility of all persons hired to work in the United States. OSLC/ODI participates in E-Verify. This employer will provide the Social Security Administration (SSA) and, if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with information from each new employee’s Form I9 to confirm work authorization. Proof of identity and employment eligibility must be provided and verified by OSLC at the time of hire or no later than three business days after the date of hire.
All applicants offered a position at OSLC/ODI must sign a confidentiality agreement and criminal background check consent form. Some applicants will be required to have a fingerprint criminal history check done, based on the specific job duties listed on the posting. OSLC/ODI will also complete the following as a condition of your employment: Employment Verification, Education Verification, Motor Vehicle Records check, if applicable to position, and confirm Driver License eligibility, if applicable to position.
Past or current participation in OSLC or ODI research, or the participation of your family or others in a close personal relationship with you, could affect your eligibility for certain jobs at OSLC/ODI.
A completed online application, including your resume and a cover letter, is required each time you apply for a position at OSLC/ODI. Resumes are not accepted in lieu of a completed application.
OSLC/ODI’s COVID-19 vaccination policy requires that staff provide either: a) proof of COVID-19 vaccination showing they are fully vaccinated, or b) be approved for a medical or religious exemption upon hiring. Requests for exemptions will be reviewed by OSLC/ODI administration and grant staff. More information is available upon request.
