General Information on Employment with OSLC
Job postings contain information regarding job duties and qualifications, salary range, and specific job related requirements.
A completed online application is required each time you apply for a position at OSLC/ODI. Resumes are not accepted in lieu of a completed application. Fill out your online application completely.
Complete the OSLC/ODI employment application (and required supplemental documentation, such as resume and letter of intent) no later than 5 p.m. on the closing date that appears on the job posting; applications submitted after the closing date will not be accepted.
Note: Oregon Social Learning Center job postings are intended as a general descriptive recruitment guide and are subject to change; they do not constitute either an expressed or implied contract. The statements contained in said job postings reflect general details as necessary to describe the principal functions of the job, the level of knowledge and skill typically required, and the scope of responsibility, but should not be considered an all-inclusive listing of work requirements. Individuals may perform other duties as assigned.
Tips for Completing your Job Application
A completed application is required each time you apply for a position at OSLC/ODI.
Specific points to consider when filling out the OSLC/ODI application form:
- Be sure to list any experience, paid or volunteer, that is relevant. If only part of the duties of past jobs are relevant to the required or special qualifications listed for a job, indicate the percent of time spent doing the relevant duties.
- List employment dates (month/year) and hours per week at each job listed. Your answer will not be scored if it is not clear how long you were employed. Partial credit is given for part-time employment.
- Make sure spelling and grammar are correct. Proof it carefully for typographical errors.
- Make sure you include your email address on the application.
Tips for Other Written Materials
Applicants should submit a cover letter or letter of intent, with their online application packets. This is an opportunity to inform the hiring supervisor how your experience, training, skills, and career aspirations apply to the specifics of the vacancy. It also gives you the chance to discuss items that may not be clear on the application or resume, such as why you have made frequent job changes or wish to leave your current job.
If you are selected as a finalist for a position, the hiring Grant Operations Administrator will notify you by email or telephone to schedule an interview. If you are interviewed but not selected for the position, you will receive either a telephone call or written notification via e-mail. All applications will remain on file for at least six months.
Federal law requires all employers to verify the identity and employment eligibility of all persons hired to work in the United States. OSLC/ODI participates in E-Verify. This employer will provide the Social Security Administration (SSA) and if, if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with information from each new employee’s Form I9 to confirm work authorization. Proof of identity and employment eligibility must be provided and verified by OSLC at the time of hire or no later than three business days after the date of hire.
All applicants offered a position at OSLC/ODI must sign a criminal background check consent form. Some applicants will be required to have a fingerprint criminal history check done, based on the specific job duties listed on the posting.
OSLC/ODI is an equal employment opportunity employer and does not discriminate because of age, sex, race, color, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, protected veteran status, marital status, sexual orientation, disability status, or religious preference.
