Two different models for adolescent physical trauma and for early arrest.

A parenting and a cognitive model were used to predict both early arrest and adolescent physical trauma (e.g. accidents). Univariate analyses showed that almost all of the variables in the two models successfully predicted both outcomes. However, multivariate logistic analyses showed that the parenting model provided the best prediction of early arrest and a combination of the parenting and the cognitive models predicted frequent adolescent physical trauma. Although each model is defined by one unique component, they also shared one element in common. The findings suggest that a single dimension model is incomplete.
