This paper describes the one-day treatment of a selectively mute child. A technique for using reinforcement and stimulus fading for generalizations of speech in a selectively mute child is described. 7 therapists, 2 children, and the child’s mother all worked in various sequential and group combinations in a short-term treatment program.
