Primary Research and Clinical Interests

La Dra. Shortt se doctoró en la Universidad de Washington. Investiga cómo las relaciones y las emociones moldean nuestro desarrollo a lo largo de la vida. Su investigación tiene trascendencia para la salud pública y el potencial de disminuir el impacto de los factores de riesgo en la vida de los jóvenes y sus familias. Utiliza metodología observacional y fisiológica para comprender los procesos interaccionales que intervienen en la predicción de la adaptación de niños, adolescentes y adultos y los efectos de las relaciones, incluida la violencia de pareja. También tiene experiencia en diseño longitudinal, desarrollo de medidas e intervenciones y análisis multivariante.
