Leve se centra en la aplicaci\u00f3n de la investigaci\u00f3n b\u00e1sica a las intervenciones preventivas. Dirige becas de investigaci\u00f3n del NIDA, el NIMH y el NICHD que se centran en las v\u00edas de desarrollo y los resultados de la intervenci\u00f3n para j\u00f3venes y familias en situaci\u00f3n de riesgo. Esto incluye estudios de intervenci\u00f3n preventiva con j\u00f3venes en cuidado de acogida y con adolescentes en el sistema de justicia juvenil destinados a prevenir conductas de riesgo y mejorar los efectos en la salud p\u00fablica, as\u00ed como estudios de la adopci\u00f3n que examinan la interacci\u00f3n entre las influencias biol\u00f3gicas (gen\u00e9ticas, hormonales), psicol\u00f3gicas y sociales en el desarrollo. Su trabajo publicado en el \u00e1rea de la interacci\u00f3n gen-ambiente hace hincapi\u00e9 en la aplicaci\u00f3n de los resultados de la investigaci\u00f3n b\u00e1sica para ayudar a perfeccionar la selecci\u00f3n de objetivos ambientales maleables en el contexto de los estudios de prevenci\u00f3n e intervenci\u00f3n. Tambi\u00e9n se interesa por cuestiones espec\u00edficas de la adaptaci\u00f3n y los resultados de las ni\u00f1as y las mujeres. La Dra. Leve es profesora de Psicolog\u00eda del Asesoramiento y Servicios Humanos en la Facultad de Educaci\u00f3n e investigadora cient\u00edfica en el Instituto de Ciencias de la Prevenci\u00f3n de la Universidad de Oreg\u00f3n. Ha recibido el Premio a la Ciencia de la Prevenci\u00f3n 2011 de la Sociedad para la Investigaci\u00f3n en Prevenci\u00f3n y es miembro de la Junta Directiva de la Sociedad para la Investigaci\u00f3n en Prevenci\u00f3n.
