Se doctor\u00f3 en psicolog\u00eda cl\u00ednica por la Universidad de Delaware y realiz\u00f3 sus pr\u00e1cticas predoctorales y posdoctorales en la Universidad M\u00e9dica de Carolina del Sur. Actualmente es psic\u00f3loga cl\u00ednica licenciada en el estado de Connecticut. La investigaci\u00f3n de la Dra. Zajac se centra ampliamente en el desarrollo, perfeccionamiento y evaluaci\u00f3n de intervenciones psicosociales para promover cambios de comportamiento relacionados con la salud, especialmente entre los j\u00f3venes y las poblaciones vulnerables.
