El Dr. McCart se doctor\u00f3 en psicolog\u00eda cl\u00ednica por la Universidad de Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Es Investigador Cient\u00edfico Senior en el Centro de Aprendizaje Social de Oreg\u00f3n (OSLC) desde 2014. Antes de incorporarse al OSLC, el Dr. McCart fue Director Asociado del Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n de Servicios Familiares y Profesor Asociado de Psiquiatr\u00eda y Ciencias del Comportamiento en la Universidad M\u00e9dica de Carolina del Sur.<\/p>\n
La investigaci\u00f3n del Dr. McCart se centra en la prevenci\u00f3n y el tratamiento de problemas graves de salud conductual (por ejemplo, consumo de sustancias, trastorno de estr\u00e9s postraum\u00e1tico, depresi\u00f3n mayor, ideaci\u00f3n suicida) entre adolescentes y adultos emergentes (de 12 a 29 a\u00f1os). Cuando desarrolla y eval\u00faa intervenciones para esos problemas, adopta un enfoque multisist\u00e9mico, dirigi\u00e9ndose a los factores precipitantes a nivel individual, familiar, escolar y comunitario. El Dr. McCart ha recibido una amplia financiaci\u00f3n de los NIH para apoyar todas las fases de la investigaci\u00f3n de intervenci\u00f3n, incluido el desarrollo inicial y las pruebas piloto de los protocolos de tratamiento, los estudios de eficacia aleatorizados y los ensayos h\u00edbridos de aplicaci\u00f3n-eficacia en varios centros.
