El programa Kids In Transition to School (KITS) se desarroll\u00f3 para aumentar las habilidades de alfabetizaci\u00f3n temprana, sociales y de autorregulaci\u00f3n entre los ni\u00f1os con una preparaci\u00f3n escolar inadecuada. En el presente estudio, 39 familias participaron en un ensayo piloto de eficacia realizado a trav\u00e9s de una colaboraci\u00f3n comunitaria para examinar la viabilidad y el impacto del programa KITS con familias de barrios desfavorecidos. Las familias participantes eran demogr\u00e1ficamente representativas de la poblaci\u00f3n general de los distritos escolares participantes. Los ni\u00f1os que participaron en la intervenci\u00f3n mostraron mejoras significativamente mayores en el reconocimiento de letras, la fluidez en los sonidos iniciales y la comprensi\u00f3n de conceptos sobre lo impreso, en comparaci\u00f3n con sus compa\u00f1eros que no participaron. Adem\u00e1s, se observ\u00f3 una disminuci\u00f3n en las reacciones agresivas ante provocaciones de sus compa\u00f1eros y un aumento en las habilidades de autorregulaci\u00f3n.
