Cien ni\u00f1os participaron en el grupo recibieron la intervenci\u00f3n de KITS y 100 ni\u00f1os participaron en el grupo que recibi\u00f3 servicios comunes. Los ni\u00f1os en el grupo de intervenci\u00f3n de KITS participaron en una intervenci\u00f3n multicomponente durante el verano antes del inicio escolar y durante los dos primeros meses de la escuela. El estudio investig\u00f3 estos dos grupos de ni\u00f1os preescolares en torno a los resultados inmediatos (prekindergarten), intermedios (kindergarten), y a largo plazo (primer grado) tanto como varios factores clave que pueden influir en la intervenci\u00f3n incluidos: antecedentes de intervenci\u00f3n temprana\/educaci\u00f3n especial de la primera infancia y otros servicios educativos, las caracter\u00edsticas de los ni\u00f1os, y factores de riesgo de la familia.
