Cien ni\u00f1os participaron en el grupo de intervenci\u00f3n de KITS y 100 en el grupo de servicios habituales. Los ni\u00f1os del grupo de intervenci\u00f3n KITS participaron en un programa de intervenci\u00f3n multicomponente durante el verano anterior al inicio de las clases y durante los dos primeros meses de la escuela. El estudio investig\u00f3 estos dos grupos de ni\u00f1os en edad preescolar sobre los resultados inmediatos (preescolar), intermedios (kindergarten) y a m\u00e1s largo plazo (primer grado), as\u00ed como examin\u00f3 una serie de factores clave que pueden influir en la intervenci\u00f3n, incluyendo: antecedentes del ni\u00f1o de intervenci\u00f3n temprana y educaci\u00f3n especial de la primera infancia tanto como otros servicios educativos, caracter\u00edsticas del ni\u00f1o y factores de riesgo familiares.
